FAQ's

The Edition

What does 'edition of twelve' mean?

Each Pombo piece is made in an edition of up to twelve units per leather. The number may be smaller — production decisions, material availability, or the reality of a studio in motion all play a role. What does not change: when an edition closes, it closes. It does not reopen.

Can I request a specific edition number?

No. Edition numbers are assigned at dispatch and documented on the edition card that ships with your piece. The number you receive is the number of your piece — it cannot be chosen or exchanged.

What happens when an edition sells out?

It rests. The piece may return as a second run — Edition 2, numbered from where Edition 1 left off — or it may not. We do not reproduce on demand.

Will you restock a sold-out piece?

We may produce a second run of the same piece, clearly identified as Edition 2. What we do not do is reopen a closed edition or pretend scarcity that does not exist.

The Pieces

Are the pieces really handmade?

Yes. Each piece is made by hand, with care and precision at every stage — cutting, skiving, stitching, finishing. As the studio grows, some stages may involve trusted specialists or a small team, but the standard does not change: every piece is held to the same criteria before it leaves.

Can I personalise a piece?

We offer initial embroidery on select pieces. Personalised pieces cannot be returned. Write to hello@pombo.studio to discuss availability and timing before placing your order.

Do the pieces come in other colours?

Each capsule has its own palette — chosen specifically for that collection. The leathers and colours available vary by capsule and by edition. Check the capsule page for the current options. Future capsules and editions will have their own palette, independent of what came before.

What is the edition card?

Each piece ships with a card documenting its number within the edition — for example, 7 of 12. The card is considered part of the product and must be included for a return to be accepted.

Orders & Shipping

When will my order be processed and shipped?

Orders placed on weekdays before 12:00 PM (CET), excluding public holidays, are processed within 1–2 business days. Orders placed after 12:00 PM, or on weekends and public holidays, will be processed the next business day. We do not process, dispatch, or deliver on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays.

Once dispatched, delivery within the Netherlands typically takes 1–2 business days via PostNL. EU delivery takes 3–7 business days. Delivery times are estimates and may vary due to carrier delays or conditions beyond our control.

Where do you ship?

We ship to the Netherlands and all EU countries, free of charge, with no minimum order. For orders outside the EU, write to hello@pombo.studio — we evaluate international shipments case by case.

Can I track my order?

Yes. You will receive a tracking link by email once your order has been dispatched via PostNL through MyParcel.

Do you offer express shipping?

Not currently. If you have a specific deadline, write to us before ordering and we will do our best.

Returns & Repairs

Can I return a piece?

Yes, within 14 days of receiving your order. The piece must be unused, in its original condition, and returned with all original packaging including the edition card. Write to hello@pombo.studio to initiate a return. Return shipping is at the customer's expense.

Can I return an embroidered piece?

No. Personalised pieces — including initial embroidery — cannot be returned.

My piece has a defect. What do I do?

Contact us at hello@pombo.studio with your order number and a photo. If the defect is a result of our making, we will repair or replace it at no cost. This applies for two years from purchase, as required by EU law.

Do you repair pieces from other brands?

No. We repair only what we make.

ONE OF

What is ONE OF?

Not every piece enters an edition. Some are samples made during the development of a capsule — built to test a construction, a proportion, a seam. Some did not make the cut for the numbered series: a detail that shifted during production, a proportion slightly off, a stitch we were not satisfied with. They are not defective. They are the studio's margin notes.

We do not discard what we make. Every piece of leather cut in this studio carries time — in the making and in the material itself. ONE OF is where these pieces find their way to someone who will use them.

Are ONE OF pieces seconds or defective?

No. A ONE OF piece exists outside the numbered edition — not because something is wrong with it, but because it did not meet the criteria for the edition series, or because it was made as a sample during development. Each piece is described honestly, photographed to show its specific character, and priced accordingly.

Do ONE OF pieces come with an edition card?

No. ONE OF pieces are sold without an edition card and without an edition number. They are priced to reflect this.

Can I return a Footnote?

Yes, within 14 days of receiving your order, under the same conditions as any other piece: unused, in its original condition, with all original packaging. Write to hello@pombo.studio to initiate a return.

How do I know when ONE OF pieces are available?

ONE OF pieces appear in the shop as they become available — there is no fixed schedule. When a piece sells, it disappears. The best way to stay informed is to subscribe to the Journal, where we occasionally mention when new pieces have been added.

Leather Care

What type of leather do you use?

We work with genuine leather sourced from responsible suppliers — tanneries with documented environmental practices including water treatment, waste management, and responsible processing. The specific leather varies by capsule and is chosen for quality, character, and the vision of each collection. What does not vary is our commitment to knowing where our materials come from and choosing suppliers who take that responsibility seriously.

Will the leather change over time?

Yes — and that is the point. Quality leather builds a patina specific to how you use it. Marks, warmth, softness over time. This is not wear. It is character.

How do I care for my piece?

Care depends on the finish of your leather — each capsule page and product sheet includes specific care instructions. As a general rule: keep leather away from prolonged sunlight and heat, let it dry naturally if it gets wet, and condition it once or twice a year with a product appropriate for its finish.
